Richard Sambrook is a British Journalist, former BBC executive and an academic with over 30 years of industry experience almost entirely focused in news. Sambrook’s early career started as a reporter for Thomson Regional Newspaper in the late 70s and has come to include extensive progression within the BBC during the time the corporation won a number of awards for its international news coverage. Sambrook’s roles included: a producer, news editor, director of news & global news, and head of news-gathering. During this time, he was also responsible for merging radio and television news in addition to domestic and world service news-gathering, creating the largest broadcast news entity globally.
Richard Sambrook is currently a professor at Cardiff School of Journalism, media and cultural studies (Cardiff University).
