Fiona O’Brien is a British writer, journalist and former specialist in current affairs whom spent a number of years reporting on both peaceful and conflict zones throughout Africa and the Middle east. Specialising in conflict reporting, O’Brien was located in Iraq during the war in addition to being present in Sudan and the Ivory Coast during challenging times.

 

With over 20 years of experience, Fiona has an extensive resume including editor for Gulf State News and the United Nations University, writer for UAE government, editorial consultant for United Nations, and sub-editor & correspondent for Reuters. Independently, she works on academic publications in addition to literary fiction and non-fiction, and speaks several languages including French and Arabic.

 

Fiona O’Brien is currently an exceptional professor of Journalism at Kingston University.
